Playing into the idea of juxtaposition by showing pigeons as fearsome creatures instead of bumbling idiots who throw three sticks together and call it a nest. I loved the idea of them taking over the city with an entitled vibe (your crumbs or your life!), ganging up on people and becoming this fearsome creature that haunts the city. The idea morphed into a bunch of grungy illustrations, with nods to 90’s gangster rap photography and some subtle humor sprinkled on top.

The concept worked out really well. It’s one of my bestselling zines and (most importantly) I get so many giggles, laughs and people enjoying the vibes of these pigeons at markets.
